Sanya Matani, LMHC is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She grew up in South Florida and completed her Bachelor's degree in Psychology at the University of Central Florida then went on to complete her Master’s in Counselor Education at UCF.
She has completed a Graduate Certificate in Play Therapy, in addition to Levels 1-4 of Sand Tray Training. She has worked under contract with the Florida Dept. of Children and Families, Orange, and Seminole County Public Schools. She has served on the Aga Khan Social Welfare Board, and has received awards for her clinical conference presentations, volunteerism and service excellence.
In her practice, Sanya believes the client’s voice, needs, and expertise should be reflected within the treatment plan and therapeutic relationship, thus engaging her clients in collaborative treatment planning and goal setting. She is a practitioner of evidence-based modalities, & seeks to promote her client’s empowerment to meet their needs and better understand themselves. Her career has involved inpatient, outpatient, and residential care, as well as in-home and in-school care, providing Sanya a dynamic perspective on mental health and treatment interventions.
